  • Souvenirs:
    • Guizhou souvernir shop “Qian Cui Hang” 黔萃行: This shop is located on the first floor of the Guizhou museum on Beijing road, (near the conference hall). You enter it through the side door of the museum. Inside, you will find a wide range of typical Guizhou souvenirs, such as a large variety of minority ethnic groups’ handicraft.
    • Shops all around town will sell other Guizhou specialties such as:
        • Dried beef jerky 牛肉干 (níu ròu gān): Do not be fooled by its “candy wrapper”, it really is meat inside! It comes in small bite-size pieces covered in delicious spices.
        • Bobo candy 波波糖 (bōbō táng): This delicious treat is ideal if you have a sweet tooth. It is made up of maltose sugar and powdered black sesame seeds. This 500 years old recipe is so complex that it was named “bobo” or “waves” to symbolize the amount of layers and work that is involved. You don’t even have to chew it as it will slowly dissolve in your mouth.
        • Maotai Alcohol茅台酒 (mao tai jiu): It is produced in a town called Maotai, in the city of Renhuai (仁怀市) in the Guizhou province. It is believed that the town of Maotai possesses a unique climate and vegetation that contributes to the taste of the alcohol. Maotai, which is classified as "sauce-flavoured" (酱香, jiangxiang) because it offers an exceptionally pure, mild, and mellow soy sauce-like fragrance that lingers, is distilled from fermented sorghum and now comes in different versions ranging in alcohol content from the standard 53% alcohol down to 35%.
        • Guizhou cigarettes: Brands such as Guiyan (贵烟)、Zunyi (遵义)、Huangguoshu (黄果树) are made in Guizhou.

         

  • Clothes, Shoes, ect….
    • Down Zhonghua North Road and Zhonghua Middle Road, you will encounter a wide range of shops and a number of shopping centers. There you will also find stores that sell electronic apparel.
    • All around town, there are a number of supermarkets, one of the largest is Wal-Mart in the People’s Square (人民广场)。
